IEP

Yesterday was our first official IEP meeting with Josh's teachers/administration, nurses, PT/OT, etc...I had to admit I was quiet nervous since the last IEP meeting was in GJ and didn't go well. Oh, for those that don't know what an IEP meeting is...it's an "Individual Education Plan"...I think...Anyways...it went awesome. There is some new terms that I get to learn...love those abbreviated words....but it was pleasant. No pointing fingers, everyone on the same page wanting the best for Josh. Go figure! His goals for this year are simple, but will help get his body/mind back into the school thinking with lot's of variety and learning possibilities to his schedule. I'm excited!
Then we moved on to his behavior plan. In GJ they have it worded differently and not as formal, so that was a bit scarey to read. But once they walked me through it, I was okay with the decission that were made. YAH! They do alot of positive reinforements for his "wigs" and actually said they enjoyed having him in class. It's been a long time since teachers/administration has said that about Josh. Usually it's just the aides in the classroom that enjoy Josh's dramatics and imagination. YAH!~
So overall...I'm pleased, happy that we found this school and Josh is happy....this week :0)

Pam we love Josh so much! He is a cutest boy and has lots of friends in our class. He is learning to interact with his friends and it is so fun to see. Just remember that as his teachers HE is the angel we are just the little worker who are privileged to help him in this life.
