8th of December - Update

Its's been scarey to say the least. This is how everything unfolded.....

 Sunday: very little gas and output, j is still saying he doesn't feel good, but eating.

 Monday: he woke up at 4 and there was nothing to empty or burp. This wasn't normal. Dad got up with him an hour later and still there was nothing. This caused for a little alarm. While I was getting up I had the strong expression to check his gadget out even though everything seemed to be sticky (finally). So I got j up and while showering removed it. That is we're the alarm came. It had receded in and you could only see about a pencil eraser of it. Plus it was dark and some clots came out. Again, not a good sign. We finished getting ready, he drank his shake and were on our way to the ER room by 8:20. They did X-rays he threw up, tons...and then the downhill roller coaster began. They really don't know why it happened or what caused it to happen, but it did. His oxygen dipped, heart rate increases and he just wasn't happy. Monday he didn't sleep at all.

 Tuesday: they ran more test, more X-rays. I couldn't get his oxygen up past 85% which was very frustrating plus his heart rate was peaking at 150. Then dad came to relieve me and while I went home to shower, they moved him to an imcu care room (intermediate icu). When I got back dad told me his heart was at 177, they had done a ct scan and more X-rays. At 9pm we were told he needed to have emergency surgery. He was given a beautiful Priesthood blessing. They redid his gadget because it died! And then we were moved into the icu care unit.

 Wednesday: some complications, infections, breathing tube being pulled out. J does to like anything on him. Yes, they have him in very soft restraints to prevent it from happening again. Blood pressure went down, change of sedation medication...and he is very swollen from all the liquids they have been pumping into him. On a good note, he is having output in all areas. They didn't think it would start working this fast, so the surgery was a success.

 We are continually being told how very sick he was,is and again how lucky we were to catch it. That brings you to today. Our goal is to get him off the breathing tube and start getting him stable to move out of the icu.
