First, this doctor is just basically running test we have had done before. So it's nothing new. He's not the GI, he's the surgeon who will be operating on J. The GI doctor's that have seen J before have run these test. The surgeon just wants it done more throughly so he doesn't make a mistake when talking about the different surgeries that will take place. Second, there will be surgeries done. We just don't know how serious or in depth the surgery will be. We do know it will take place around the holidays. This isn't an easy answer, in fact it's a scary decision that his father and I will make. Seeing J so happy this past week just answers all the questions of where/when his behaviors occur. It's when his stomach is upset or his constipated. I'm sure his school will agree on this. Think about it. This surgery could take a behavior away, we could see a whole new J. He could gain weight and eat!
The surgeon said this isn't a quick fix. Nothing is! But, it could fix the pain J is in, it could fix the constipation problem, it could fix the cocktail of medicine he is on for his bowels. Which it means less medicine to give him and we could sometime in the near future see if he has to be on soo many behavioral medicines.
I'm trusting this surgeon with my sons stomach (plus doing a little research)...isn't that what faith is all about?

Wow, lots to decide and pray for. We are really hoping there are answers and J gets to a more constant happy state and can feel better the majority of the time. He is a trooper! So are his loving parents and brothers. Hang in there, or should it be let it go ;0) ... OK, that was a bad one.
