GI Update - April 2010

Wow, I looked at this blog and I've had this title again, so I decided maybe to add the date this time. So yes, we saw the new GI doctor and she has some different ideas then the other GI idiot had. At least she has some ideas to help J. So for 16 days we are giving him the magic pill in smaller doses 2x daily. Instead of getting 24 mg once, J will get 8 mg in the morning and then at dinner, plus increasing the golytely. Well, the insurance doesn't like the increase on the golytely, what's new! As for the magic pills, the GI gave us samples to last us the 16 days. I'm to call her secretary and report of the happenings with J. While at the doctor's we found that he was running a low grade fever.
Problem with that is what is causing it.
There is no signs of flu, cold, infections, that are visible to the eye. But the behavior has started a little. Interesting. Is it the slight change of meds, him not feeling good or the stupid weather? So for teachers and all those that come in contact with J.....he's non-stop talker...just remind him to use his quiet voice or that it's not his turn...this will work for maybe 5 minutes...but 5 minutes is better then none.
Then for no reason, he might give you a "love tap"...no big wigs...
Really interesting. The wigs are nothing, but his heart rate goes up and his body temp goes up and then he breaks out in a cold sweat. Any ideas out there? It's got us stumped. It could be him feeding off the anxiety in the house the last couple of days...Family life is always full of trials ...so please just be patient with him.
As for right now at this moment...he's quiet/probably a sleep since he woke up at 3...

Happy Monday!
